(URGENCY MESSAGE - IF CREW OR VESSEL NEED ASSISTANCE)

• make sure radio is on
• verify radio is  switched to ch.16
• press and hold transmit button
• PANPAN , PANPAN , PANPAN
• All ships , All ships , All ships
• This is yacht (boat name) , This is yacht (boat name), This is yacht (boat name)
• ( give MMSI if fitted with DSC )
• My position is ( your position )
• ( give information about the condition of the boat ) (Ex. I have a broken rudder and require a tow)
• ( give information about the crew ) ( ex.Six person on board )
• Over
• Release transmit button
• Wait 30 seconds - if no response , repeat PANPAN call

Have all persons put on life jackets if necessary
