How to use & check the engine (diesel Volvo Penta)

BEFORE YOU START
- Check the oil level (it has to be at min level when the engine is cold)
- Check the water level of the cooling system (it has to be at max level with the tap closed)
- Check if the alternator belt is tight
HOW TO START THE ENGINE
- Turn on the panel
- Make sure that the gear is in neutral position
- Wait for 3-5 seconds until you hear a beep which means that your engine has been preheated
- Press the ignition button to start the engine
- Run the engine at 1000rpm & Check if water comes out the exhaust ( if not you have to stop the engine & check the impeller & if the seacock for the incoming water is open )
HOW TO STOP THE ENGINE
- Make sure that the gear is in neutral position
- Press the ‘’stop’’ button until the engine stops
- Wait until you hear a beep & turn off the panel
GENERAL TERMS
- Do not run the engine at more than 2200rpm ( you will not go faster – you will just consume more fuel )
- If you want to charge the batteries by the engine you have to run the engine at 1500rpm
- If the alarm is beeping (temperature, oil level etc.) Then something is going wrong.
