How to use & check the engine (diesel Volvo Penta)

BEFORE YOU START

1. Check the oil level (it has to be at min level when the engine is cold)
2. Check the water level of the cooling system (it has to be at max level with the tap closed)
3. Check if the alternator belt is tight

HOW TO START THE ENGINE

1. Turn on the panel
2. Make sure that the gear is in neutral position
3. Wait for 3-5 seconds until you hear a beep which means that your engine has been preheated
4. Press the ignition button to start the engine
5. Run the engine at 1000rpm & Check if water comes out the exhaust  ( if not you have to stop the engine & check the impeller & if the seacock for the incoming water is open )

HOW TO STOP THE ENGINE

1. Make sure that the gear is in neutral position
2. Press the ‘’stop’’ button until the engine stops
3. Wait until you hear a beep & turn off the panel

GENERAL TERMS

1. Do not run the engine at more than 2200rpm    ( you will not go faster – you will just consume more fuel )
2. If you want to charge the batteries by the engine you have to run the engine at 1500rpm
3. If the alarm is beeping (temperature, oil level etc.) Then something is going wrong.
