Vonitsa - Ionian destinations - Sailing information

 Vonitsa is a nice and quite place to spend some of your time.A visit to the Venetian Fort which is just above the town quay,  worths to be done . Also the place is famous in Greece for the quality of fresh  meat that produce  , so if you're planning to have meat for dinner this is the proper place .

Approach Vonitsa       (38°55'19N / 020°53'17 WGS84 )

Approach free of dangers once you take care at the shoal water and rocks off Ak Panayia NW of ormos Vonitsa . The Venetian Fort  is easily identified even at night and will guide you straight to the town quay

Mooring

Go stern or bows-to the town quay .Good shelter , good holding , try to drop your anchor as closer to the breakwater is possible to secure enough scope . Alternatively anchor in Ay Markos Ormos on the W side of the bay .Good holding , good shelter .Another alternative anchorage is at the E side of islet Koukouvitsa .
